We are pleased to announce that the Flash External Interface is NOW FULLY COMPATIBLE with all versions of ToolBook from v8.9 to 10.0 via a new function in the JavaScript PowerPac for ToolBook called pgFlash_ExternalInterface().
This gives you the BEST of Flash along with the BEST of ToolBook in a perfect combination of development tools.
If you know how to script in Flash (ActionScript 2.0 or 3.0), you will find this incredibly easy to use. However, we have included as detailed a tutorial as possible.
pgFlash_ExternalInterface() permits by-directional communication with Flash via virtually every PowerPac function. You can trigger ToolBook buttons, initiate page navigation, set field text, move objects, send user events, and anything else you can imagine ALL FROM A FLASH MOVIE. Toolbook can use the External Interface to trigger events in your Flash movies like start/stop animation, goto frame, set text of fields, and anything else you can imagine all from a ToolBook event object. You can even use SWF fonts in your projects and manipulate them from ToolBook.

This is release 8.75 and includes a number of other nice enhancements. You can see what these are by checking the “What’s NEW” item on the index page of the tutorial. Some of these include: 1. New pgToolTip() function which greatly enhances ToolBook’s tooltips and of course, fixes broken tooltips in v9.5. 2. New pgProgressBar() function which inserts a scrolling progress bar into any ToolBook field object.
If you previously had downloaded the 12 day trial and would like to reset your trial period, email me off list and I will be glad to provide instructions on how to do this. 02clams@gmail.com
Those who already purchased licenses for the PowerPac can just download the installation zip file again and install it right over your previous installation and the new features will be immediately available.
